Located between 95th and 96th street on 3rd avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, The Wicked Monk is easily reachable by bus (B70) or Train (R Train to 95th street). The Wicked Monk, affectionately called "The Monk" by many of its patrons is a great place to stop in for quick brew, to spend the night socializing, or to hold an event or fundraiser.
When you walk through the door of this neighborhood pub, you are suddenly transported back to a Gothic Irish Monastery. This beautiful bar with its original wood and stained glass were shipped direct from the Chapel in Greenmount Monastery (Gallows Green), Cork, Ireland, which was built in 1897, replacing a monastery which stood on the site previously since 800 AD. The building in Ireland was recently declared a Historic Treasure. The monastery also housed a boy's boarding school in the 1800's.
